HISTORY

OF PALESTINE

Palestine's history is rooted in its role as the ancestral homeland of Palestinians, indigenous caretakers of the land. From ancient times to modern struggles, Palestinians have maintained a deep connection to their land amidst conquests, colonization, and displacement.

Understanding Palestine's history means recognizing the enduring bond between its people and their territory amid complex geopolitical challenges.

Pre-20th Century

Inhabited for millennia, Palestine had a culture was rich and diverse. Indigenous Palestinian traditions included agricultural practices, intricate crafts like pottery and weaving, and vibrant cultural festivities celebrating weddings, harvests, and religious occasions.

Family and community ties were central, fostering resilience amidst historical upheavals.

Palestine witnessed various empires' rule, including the Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks and Romans.
